Green Cape Lighthouse

This is the lighthouse at Green Cape in Ben Boyd National Park, NSW.  This photo was taken late in the Milky Way season at the very start of daylight saving here in Australia.  The Milky Way starts to disappear as the days get longer. The old lighthouse is no longer in use and, in this photo, you can see the beam from the new lighthouse lighting up the structure.

If you get a chance to visit it’s well worth it, particularly at whale migration times when you can see many whales travelling around the point.  Go for a day or rent one of the lighthouse keeper’s cottages and stay the weekend.
