The tiny town of Okarito is on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island, it’s not far from the very touristy Franz Joseph glacier region. We chose to stay in Okarito on a two week road trip, I’m so glad we did, the town is full of great old buildings and holiday houses – permanent population of around 40. I loved it, I want to live there!
This photo is a three shot panorama, the moon is behind me and lit up the old wharf beautifully, just a pity we were a bit too early in the year for the core of the Milky Way.
